A decade traversed across the sub-polar wilderness.

Documenting the volatile boundary where ancient volcanic basalt meets monumental glacial ice across Iceland, New Zealand, and Patagonia.

true landscape photography in sub-polar climates is largely an exercise in patience and restraint. Reaching remote valleys in Iceland's central highlands or navigating the wet temperate rainforests below New Zealand's southern fiords requires moving on foot with self-supported camp gear and heavy medium-format bodies.

I spend weeks in total solitude waiting for momentary shifts in polar light. The goal is never to capture a postcard sunset, but to document the raw geological texture of stone, mist, and deep blue glacial pressure ice at true scale.
